I am a science enthusiast and a serial entrepreneur. I was born and brought up in Dungarpur district of Rajasthan state of India. Dungarpur is a very small city with very simple and loving people. It is surrounded by beautiful Aravalli mountain range. Here I have completed my schooling and basic educations.
My interest in science is motivated by “The Nature”. Nature astonishes me deeply and always leaves many imprints on my mind. These imprints finally come out as my scientific thoughts and research aptitude. Earlier in my school days, majority of imprints regarding the “Life” and its “Existence” gravitate me to ‘Life sciences’. Therefore, I decided to formalize my knowledge and love of biology, and to major in Biology at high school.
During B.Sc. (Biology) I worked on the effect of NaF (present abundantly in the potable water) on Neural Tube Defects (NTDs) in infants. NTDs are multiple factorial diseases with mystic molecular mechanisms. It was the first time when I was scientifically magnetized towards molecular biology, so that I could solve the puzzle of NTDs. During M.Sc, my stay at the National Brain research Centre gave me a valuable opportunity to learn and assimilate the fundamental concepts of cell and molecular biology.
From here onwards science became my ultimate dream to solve. I started reading and questioning more and more. Soon after that I joined National Institute of Immunology (Nii, New Delhi) and turned towards microbiology and infectious diseases. I worked there for almost 6 years and earned my Ph.D. degree both in collaboration with Birla Institute of Technology & Science, Pilani (Hyderabad) and Nii, New Delhi. These years brought a lot of maturity in my scientific thought and learning next level of science. My mentor Dr. Vinay Nandicoori and Prof. Dr. Sriram taught me many lessons of science and life. I was super lucky to have them as my mentors.
Soon after that I joined Weill Cornell Medicine, New York for my next level of experience as postdoctoral researcher. I am working on metabolomics and development of antibiotics. I got so many new chances and possibilities to learn more. Here I also developed my passion of entrepreneurship and started my first company called “Scipreneur Private Limited (based in New Delhi, India). This gave me more confidence and a waste level of network of business experts. I am still growing to learn more and more every day.
